Hey everyone! First I just want to throw in that I would really like some formspring questions! No pressure though! °o°131 Days!!!!!!!!

Okay so I have officially ordered my CP shirts AND a pair of sweat pants! They are very cute! If you haven't ordered them yet then I would suggest you check them out and think about getting one too! They are made by Michelle and she did an awesome job! Kudos Michelle! I think someone else may have helped too but I am not to sure, if someone knows then post below so they can get some credit too!

This wait seems so long! After spring break I am not to sure if I am going to be able to go back to school. After we had the week long break for snow reasons I didn't want to go back. And now that we are on Spring Break it is too close to the end of the year!

I found a shirt for Traditions! I got it from Lerners (or New York and Company for you people whos mothers don't call everything by their very old name!)! It was only $15 dollars! I am pretty proud of that purchase. Now trying not to wear it for 5 months is going to be hard!

Disney is following me everywhere! I see it everywhere and it makes me need to leave, NOW!!! Well...

Been Awhile!

P.S. if you want to skip most of the boring my life stuff skip the 3rd paragraph and 6th one but if you want to read about my life then YAY!

Hey all you followers! (BY the way I am so grateful that this many people actually follow my crazy rants) I haven't updated in over a week but it has been a crazy week with school! I basically had a test in every class that I have!

Not to much to report on the DCP. We keep having roommate chats and I keep loving the girls more and more! I don't know how we found so many people that were so alike, but we DID! I may be going to Chicago over the summer to visit them so we can meet before we get there!

Also I may be going to either St. Louis or somewhere in Wisconsin with my sister for her job. She works for PNC and they are turning all of the National City's over to PNC's in waves and she is one of the tellers that gets to go do it! So I may be in one of those two places for two weeks over the summer! I know that it may not be the best move financially, but I really want to go! I am trying to save money, but that has been pretty hard for me recently! Normally when I am in school I can save money like no ones business but not this semester! I am going to be taking those two weeks off, then a week off for our family vacation, then I am leaving August 6th to go down to Florida! UHH! I will have no money! I need to figure something out. I have some money in my savings but I am taking a summer class and that is about $400 which I know is not that much, but when I have to pay completely out of pocket, on a minimum wage like 10 hours a week job, it is quite a blow. Also I think I may have to pay for the hotel we are staying at when we go down to Florida!

We haven't made the reservations yet but I think I sold my parents on staying at the Sunspree right across from Vista! And I think we are going down the 6th like I wanted! I am so excited for Disney I don't think I can handle much more waiting! I have made some pretty extensive packing lists that I am pretty proud of! I just can't wait to buy more stuff for them!!! I love to shop! So far I bought my new bed spread, a table lamp (that has an outlet built in so I can charge my phone on the table and it is PINK!) and a hot pink basket for the bathroom! That is like one 20th of my big things list, and nothing from my small things list! I don't know what to do! My mom thinks I don't need to start getting things this early! Who is she kidding!

Oh also if anyone who reads this is arriving 8/9/10 (yay for number in order, I have slight number OCD) and have yet to check out the FB group for the Pre-Check-In Dinner please do so! I can't wait to meet everyone! Clearly the dinner will be help on 8/8!

I am pretty sure I can not focus on school anymore! I need to keep my grades up because I am transferring after this semester and I haven't applied yet so I still need good grades! But I am pretty sure that my summer class is going to kill me! I know I will like it (it is Physics for Science and Engineering III) but it is 4 days a week for 4 weeks from 9am-3pm!!!! Yeah I am pretty sure I am going to be doing a lot of doodling and copying (which I do not condone! Do as I say, not as I do!) lol

Oh and I painted my nails purple today! Yay for purple! For all of you who have been accepted in the last few weeks CONGRATULATIONS welcome to the Disney family! and for those of you still waiting, I am sending you lots of Pixie Dust!

Something Cool

So I found out something cool today. I was reading about Fantasia and Fantasound and found out that when Fantasia was originally released it was only released in 13 cities. They could only release it in these cities because they were the only ones that could hook up Fantasound. One of the original cities was Pittsburgh (where I live) and my dad told me that my great-grandfather was the one to actually figure out how to hook it up here in Pittsburgh. I thought this was very cool!

Me and my roommates have been having talks and everyday I love them a little more. We are all so much alike it is awesome! We think we may have found a 6th roommate but she wants to wait until next week to decide, which I completely understand. Only 142 days left, I really can't wait °o°.

I find hidden mickey's everywhere, and almost every time I find one I take a picture with my phone (if I remember to do it).

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! Can't wait to see all you DCP Fall or FA people when we get down there!

So I went and saw Michael Buble on Wednesday and he was AMAZING!!! We got the PEC early and I am glad we did, it was so packed. We had good seat for what I paid, front row of the balcony so so we could see everything really well. If you have never seen hin in concert I suggest you should because it may have been the best concert I have ever been to. He is also hilarious. I would have never known that but he was sitting down and just talking to the audience, and it was so funny! Also his opening group was called Naturally 7, if you have never heard of them, look them up! They were amazing and they do something called vocal play which is very cool! On the way home from the concert we were using our GPS because we were not familiar with the area and it tried to kill us! It told us to turn down a one way street! And it was telling us it was right! It was very scary lol. btw we followed the directions until we saw the WRONG WAY signs, thats when we figured it out!

So we are still looking for one more girl for our room. If you want to see my roommate survey it is posted on here somewhere. My roommate is Brynn Barnett then we have Cheryl Waclaw and Melinda Kaiser rooming together, and that leave Trente Blonski without a roommate. We are all 21+, arriving 8/9 and staying in Patterson. We would like a nice girl that doesn't want to throw any wild parties (unless it is an awesome game night or dinner party) and preferably doesn't smoke (we are also planning on showing up at 6:45 am to get a place that we want). If we sound like the roommates for you let me know and I will introduce you to the girls. Also you can find all of our roommate surveys on the FB group page!

I can't believe it is only 143 days until Disney! I wish it was less but it will be soon enough! We are already planning all the amazing things we want to do! I can't wait to be there. I know we are going to be working alot, which I am quite alright with, but I do hope we have time for fun!

One month down!

Hey everyone! Sorry the posts have been a little lackluster recently. I am now 146 days out! My excitement grows every day. I may have a car to use now. We have a car just chilling in the back yard that the battery died in. My dad says there may be something wrong with the suspension but his mechanic friend can easily fix that. He says if it isn't too expensive and I get my license lol I can take it to Florida! My mom isn't very happy about this but I just really want a car. Also if I take it I have to take the auto train down because my dad doesn't want me putting over a thousand miles on it just to get there. This is actually the car we took to Florida in 2008 and it made it just fine, but I understand he doesn't want anything it happen to it while I am alone.

My family is really planning on coming down to visit me which makes me very happy because me mom says she will never go to Disney again, but she is! Also all the money my parents are getting for taxes is going to be put in the vacation fund to cover their part and my part! My sisters decided that I had to pay the same amount as everyone else even though I may only be staying in the hotel a few nights and I am not driving with them from Pittsburgh so I won't be using the car that much. And without me they wouldn't even be able to go! But my mom thinks this is ridiculous so she is paying for me lol. I always pay for everything so it is nice not to have to worry about it!

I can't wait for school to be over. This semester is dragging so much! The Disney presentation is going to be here at my school tomorrow. I am thinking about attending but I am not to sure because I also am going to see Michael Buble tomorrow with my sisters! If you are going to be in Pittsburgh tomorrow and you are bored and you want to see the presentation come to CCAC Allegheny campus at 2 in the Student Service Building. It should be a good time.

I seriously can not wait to meet all of you! I am kind of upset that I am not going to be there until August because I want to meet everyone now! And also getting to be in Florida for two extra months wouldn't hurt. I can't believe I found out a month ago! A whole month has gone by since I found out! It feels like yesterday!

Something that is in the works right now is me and my roommate are thinking about starting a Disney sorority called DCP (Delta Chi Pi). Just something fun we can do while we are down there. She use to be in a sorority but left this year and has a ton of things to use so we thought, why not a Disney one! If anyone thinks this sound fun, or maybe you would be interested let me know. I am not sure how far we are going to take this but I want to know what you guys think.

40 and 157

So today is a day of numbers. I want to say Thank You to all of my followers that has now reached 40! I started this blog at the beginning of my journey, a little over a month ago, hoping to keep track of my progress and the crazy journeys I am planning on having. I never thought I would have many followers and never even imagined that 40 people would want to follow my ramblings!

Okay 157! That is how many days left until I leave! Oh August 9th I really need you to be hear sooner. So me and my roommate Brynn have found two more definite roommates and someone else who wants to room with us but she needs to now find a roommate. I am very excited about finding some roommates!

So I wasn't planning on taking any summer classes but one of my friends convinced me to take a class they only offer in the summer. It is only 4 weeks so it will be over June 12 BUT it is M T W H from 9am-3pm! UHH!! I don't want to take it but I need it! It's Physics for Science and Engineering III. I took the first two about a year ago so hopefully I will be able to remember everything.

2 Weeks Down!

So 2 weeks down, a bajillion to go!!! No really only 22 (before I arrive) and I am pretty sure it will FLY by. (Here's hoping) So the shopping bug has bit me and I can't stop trying to buy things for the program. My mom thinks its too early but I don't want to be spending hundreds of dollars in July, when I am trying to go on vacation, to buy things. I bought a new bedspread and sheets this weekend because I have a full bed so I need a smaller set! I love it it is purple with flowers! I love purple!!! I also bought a cardigan I am planning on wearing to traditions. If you look back at my traditions polyvore post its the cardigan in the picture!

I keep trying to focus on school but knowing that you are leaving in 5 short months doesn't help! Everytime I go on the computer to do school work I get sidetracked with facebook and blogger and the DISboards! I will go on to check my email and THREE hours later I am still on there!!! I think I need to be better disciplined!

I can't believe it has already been two weeks since I found out I got in! It feels like only yesterday I was sitting at this exact table when I got the email! Me and my roommate Brynn have been deciding what we are going to need and what we are each bringing that the other one doesn't need. I am lucky because she already has an apartment so she has a coffee maker and toaster and a small tv for our room! I really wanted a tv but didn't want to spend $100 on one right now. When we get down there if all the roommates want to go in on a tv for the living room I would definitely be good with giving some money for that!

So I am rambling again. I really don't have a ton to talk about yet but it feels like it has been a while since I actually had a post pertaining to my progress with the cp.

I emailed recruiting on Sunday to tell then that I would prefer a park over a resort or waterpark. I had my dad proof read it so it didn't sound like a demand. I have not heard anything yet but I heard it takes a few days. I also emailed housing yesterday to ask about roommate notification. I want to post the email I received in hopes it helps other people too.

This is the email I sent:

My name is Laura Metzger and I have been accepted to the WDW Fall 2010 College Program. I am very excited to be able to embark on this once in a lifetime opportunity. I had a question concerning the roommate matching. It says on the website that "You will also have the option of entering someone else's applicant number to be matched with that person". It also says my days are not eligible to participate in roommate matching program. I already have someone that I wish to room with, and I was wondering if, even though we are not eligible, we could still be linked as roommates? My application number is xxxxxxxx. If you could please contact me in regards to this matter that would be greatly appreciated. Again I am very grateful for this opportunity and I can not wait to join the Walt Disney World team!

Greetings Laura,

Thank you for your email. You are correct; the room-mate matching system for the fall semester has not yet been activated. While we do not yet have a date set for the activation, you will receive an email from the Disney College Program team when the system is up and running and your arrival date is eligible. At that time you will be able to log in and opt in to the room-mate matching system to request to live with your friend. If for some reason your arrival date does not get selected to participate in the room-mate matching system this does not mean that you will be unable to live with your friend. If that situation should occur we would advise you and your friend to arrive to check-in together and go through the process with each other. When you meet with the housing placement coordinator you may request to be placed into the same apartment unit. We thank you for your patience and understanding and we look forward to seeing you in the fall.
